June is Aphasia Awareness Month around the country and around the world!
It is an opportunity for the NAA to educate the general public about aphasia… what it is, and what it is not. We are also able to share all of the amazing programs serving people with aphasia and their families in communities across the nation.
June is also our most important time to secure the funds vital to the National Aphasia Association. With 38 years of continuous service to individuals with aphasia and their families, the NAA is THE nonprofit organization for resources, education, training and connections. We need your help to continue this role as a beacon of hope for this deserving community.
Our 2025 theme is A New Day With the NAA
YOU have put your trust in us and asked us for resources that are meaningful, informative and accurate. YOU have realized the larger aphasia community because of these changes, such as:
- A brand new, functional and engaging Provider Directory!
- An informative weekly newsletter insuring access to everyone!
- A social media platform expansion including LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook!
- A Community Hub on Facebook for the aphasia community to share their efforts!
- A new Care Partner Support Groups for specific aphasia challenges
- A virtual group for Young Persons with Aphasia
- A way of providing financial sponsorships and aphasia advocacy materials to programs across the country!
- A brand new grant to support researchers in the area of aphasia; bringing our total giving this year to $30,000 in grants alone!
- A Lunch and Learn, Ask the Expert and monthly webinars matching your needs and interests.
- And so much more…
NOW, … YOU can do more than watch the beautiful sunrise that YOU helped create, YOU can raise it up!
A New Day With the NAA June Campaign:
June 2025’s National Aphasia Awareness Month is inspired by the power of connection, advocacy, and giving. With our refreshed look and renewed mission, we’re ushering in a new day with YOU as part of the National Aphasia Association. This month is our most important fundraising time of the year, and we’re inviting our community to join us in expanding awareness, resources, and research. Whether you donate in honor of someone with aphasia, host a peer-to-peer fundraiser, or support innovative research through our grants program, your generosity fuels progress. Help us rise together toward a brighter, more inclusive future for all impacted by aphasia.
YOUR financial support this month will result in:
- A brand new, inclusive, accessible website filled with all of the resources that YOU need on the aphasia journey.
- A comprehensive monthly educational program with levels of training for those who love and care for persons with aphasia.
- A special invitation to connect with NAA when you have questions/concerns.
- A updated Research platform allowing you to find studies, post studies and learn about the latest in research.
- And let’s not forget the re-launch of the beloved Speaking Out Conference!
Let’s do this!
Here’s how YOU can continue to make a difference and make the SUN RISE!!
- Make a donation to the National Aphasia Association (online or check). It’s simple and impactful! You can honor a person with aphasia and we’ll let that person/family know of your thoughtfulness.
- Donations can also be made in the form of Stock Transfers, Donor Advised Funds or IRA Charitable Rollover Gifts. These types of gifts can help you and the organization. Check out how easy it is to do this.
- Start your own Peer to Peer Fundraiser. Peer to Peer fundraisers are the best because they make people aware of aphasia while supporting the mission you care about! You can do this through Facebook. (see flyer for how)
- Become a GEM! A GEM is a sustainer who supports the NAA monthly; a Giving Every Month individual who helps us plan and grow!
Thank you for supporting the National Aphasia Association! We are proud to serve YOU!
